1:1 Writing that builds literacy
and confident, logical speaking

With carefully selected North American school teachers

SOAR 1:1 Writing is a “write to explain” program. Our original curriculum makes it complete English tutoring: your child grows in reading and speaking, too.

Does this sound familiar?

These are the concerns we hear most often from parents in the US and Canada.

Grade 3

Loves writing stories, but they have no structure

Grade 5

My child reads a lot, but their writing doesn’t seem to keep up

Grade 6

Full of ideas, but can't organize them into an essay

Grade 9

Gives evidence, but can't explain why it matters

For students in grades 1–10 at schools in the US, Canada and other English-speaking countries. Our first goal is better grades and stronger academic English.

Writing improves for sure.
Reading and speaking grow with it.

The reading and speaking that writing builds make writing even stronger in turn.

Writing is where growth is clearest

2Reading

Once they've written it, they see structure when they read

Writing, Reading, and Speaking,
taught 1:1 by selected North American school teachers.

Our teachers don't just fix grammar. They help your child build ideas into a structure, support claims with evidence, and revise on their own. Every one of them has taught in real classrooms to the writing and presentation standards North American schools expect.

Changes parents have shared with us

From SOAR 1:1 Writing parent feedback and what parents told us during consultations. Not scores: changes parents saw for themselves.

SOAR 1:1 WritingMessages from parents
Parent of a 4th grader · Silicon Valley, US

We only did the writing class, but I was amazed at how much more naturally my child now explains their ideas in English.

Parent of a 3rd grader · Irvine, US

My child learned how to write an introduction, and now has the habit of reading aloud and fixing their own writing.

Parent of a 5th grader · Toronto, Canada

My child has started giving reasons and speaking in an organized way. It's like what they organized in writing comes straight out in how they talk.

Parent of a 6th grader · New Jersey, US

My child now starts with an outline before writing, and the paragraphs are clearly better organized.

Parent of a 7th grader · Korea

Even my husband, who speaks at a native level, compliments the teacher's vocabulary and diction. We want to keep going despite the time difference.

Parent of a 9th grader · Texas, US

I love that the teacher doesn't just fix grammar but explains why the evidence falls short.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this for?

Students in grades 1–10 at schools in the US, Canada and other English-speaking countries.

We teach to each student's level, from students who struggle with school writing assignments or essays to those preparing for advanced academic writing such as Literary Analysis, Research Writing and Argumentative Writing. The goal isn't just correcting grammar: it's building the ability to organize ideas logically, support them with evidence, and complete a piece of writing independently.

It's a writing class. Will reading and speaking improve too?

Lessons are 100% in English. Students write from what they've read, explain their writing in English, answer the teacher's questions, and rewrite. Research also shows that writing lifts reading comprehension, and that students speak more coherently about what they've written first. We show you that change with a before-and-after comparison every course.

How do lessons work?

Lessons are built around writing before class, the lesson itself, and rewriting. Each month focuses on a set topic, so students learn that topic's vocabulary, expressions and logical structure in depth.

How does the 30-minute Writing Test work?

Once you sign up, your child has 30 minutes to write at least three paragraphs on the given topic and questions, then clicks Submit. A teacher assesses it and recommends the right track and teacher.

Can I talk with the teacher directly?

Yes. You can ask the teacher lesson-related questions on the message board in the SOAR learning system.

Will my child keep the same teacher?

As a rule, students stay with their teacher for at least 8 weeks at a time. If a change is unavoidable, we pass along the test results and learning records in full.

Can I change the schedule?

Please ask our operations team at least 48 hours before the lesson starts. Changes or cancellations within 48 hours, and absences, count as one used lesson.
