How is the curriculum for the lower grades of elementary school different from the upper grades?
Unlike the elder group, which requires higher thinking skills, sessions for younger students aim to maintain English and learn the joy of reading.
Since basic listening and speaking was completed in English kindergarten, students can maintain their English skills by continuing to read curated books selected by Soar Kidz Ivy League Curriculum Team.
Soar Kidz is not just English, but a class based on understanding of books, aiming for a higher level of language habits.
Think of it as a process of practicing the stages of deep thinking along with a fun habit of reading before you have advanced-level thinking skills.
How are Soar Kidz classes conducted?
Soar Kidz classes are conducted using the Zoom program, a video online tool.
Why are sessions conducted in small groups rather than 1:1?
SOAR KIDZ believes in fostering social language abilities, which enable children to effectively communicate with others. As we see during playtime, kids experience remarkable language growth in their interactions with friends. While 1:1 English conversations are highly effective for refining individual skills like pronunciation, they may not fully teach how to assess situations and communicate in context. That's why SOAR KIDZ's small group setting is optimal, as it allows children to delve deeper into language and broaden their communication skills to a greater extent. Moreover, group interactions create a sense of camaraderie and teamwork, making the learning experience more enjoyable and supportive.
From which countries do students participate in SOAR KIDZ classes?
Students from all around the world, including the United States, Canada, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and the Czech Republic, participate in SOAR KIDZ classes. After you have entered the waiting room, please wait for a moment until the teacher helps you enter. However, if you enter the waiting room after the session start time, you may not be admitted even if you wait. Please note that once the session starts, we may not be able to see the waiting room while the teacher is concentrating on the session.
Can I use zoom with a smartphone or tablet?
We recommend using a laptop or desktop because the large screen helps to increase the child's concentration, but zoom can be used on smartphone/laptop/tablet/PC (desktop).
I can't hear the teacher's voice very well.
Please follow the directions in the order below.
1) Check if the speaker or headset is on mute.
2) If it is not on silent, please input “I can’t hear you” to the teacher in the chat window. * This is to ensure that there is no problem with the sound equipment from the teacher's side. If it is difficult to solve the problem even after proceeding in the above order, we recommend rebooting the device or using another device.
