5,6학년 커리큘럼은 Common Core의 문해력 기준을 마스터하면서 학생들이 본인의 생각을 자신감있게 친구들과 공유할 수 있도록 설계했습니다. 디베이팅 과정에서 학생들은 책 또는 이와 연관된 논픽션 기사를 읽고, 최소 세 가지의 증거를 들며 자신의 의견을 피력하는 법을 배웁니다. 이 과정을 통하여 학생들은 다양한 관점을 듣고 분석하는 능력을 키울 수 있습니다.

Meet Your Teacher
Tia
My name is Teacher Tia and I'm very excited to meet you all. I've also worked as a consultant and graduated from UC Berkeley. I also created a summer reading program in my local community to promote child literacy and a love of reading. I believe books have the potential to spark imaginations, cultivate empathy, and enrich lives. My teaching style is friendly and full of positive encouragement; all opinions are welcome and everyone is free to speak their mind. My favorite part of SOAR KIDZ is the connection I make with each of my students, as well as the bonds the students form with each other. It's been a terrific experience so far, and I can't wait to see what each new season will bring!
