Lori
Hi! My name is Lori Embree, and I bring over 20 years of experience as an educator, specializing in Debate, Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, U.S. History, and Government. I’ve had the privilege of coaching students at both the high school and collegiate levels, with several of my students earning top placements at national tournaments and gaining admission to Ivy League universities. As a former professor of communications and a current judge for the National Speech & Debate Tournament, I understand what it takes to succeed in competitive debate. My approach focuses on student-driven learning—empowering each student to find their voice, build persuasive arguments, and speak with confidence. In my Debate Tournament Prep class, students will sharpen their critical thinking, develop powerful rebuttal techniques, and master the structure and strategy behind competitive debate formats. Whether you're aiming for your first tournament or your next championship round, I’m here to help you grow as a thinker, speaker, and competitor.
