Angel
My teaching approach is tailored for middle and high school students who need to solidify their foundational understanding before progressing to advanced problem-solving. I focus on ensuring students fully grasp essential mathematical principles—such as quadratic equations, functions, and their real-world applications—before introducing more complex topics. By incorporating visual aids, structured examples, and step-by-step verification, I help students develop the systematic thinking and analytical precision required for success in advanced mathematics. I specialize in mathematics from Pre-Algebra through AP Calculus, with additional expertise in Physics, allowing me to connect mathematical concepts to real scientific contexts. My experience spans 1:1 tutoring, small group instruction, and larger concept-based classes designed to prepare students for both academic achievement and college readiness. Students who work with me learn to approach problems from multiple perspectives, fostering flexible mathematical thinking that is invaluable for standardized tests and higher-level coursework. They gain confidence through consistent practice, guided reasoning, and the development of independent problem-solving skills. I hold a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from UC Berkeley and have extensive experience tutoring middle and high school students across a variety of learning platforms. My specialization includes AP and Honors course preparation, with proven success helping students excel in algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. As a bilingual educator fluent in English and Spanish, I am also able to effectively support and connect with diverse student populations in secondary mathematics.
