Description

Hello Soar Kidz! My name is Stacy and I am from Chicago; currently living in sunny Phoenix, Arizona! I am thrilled to start working together and share my passion for teaching and reading with all of you. I have a Master's degree in Education, and have been an English Language Arts teacher for nearly ten years. My experience includes various in-person classroom and remote settings with students from around the world. With Soar Kidz, I am eager to show students how to develop effective discussions through using critical thinking skills and building vocabulary. Engaging with our texts will be fundamental in learning about various writing styles, author's tone and purpose, and discovering our own reflections of reading! I typically prefer informative non-fiction texts and memoirs, yet also enjoy a wide range of fictional work. One of my favorite novels from my earlier years is The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton. Other authors who contributed to my love for reading are E.B White, Lois Lowry, Mark Twain, Stephen King, J.R.R Tolkien, and the list goes on! I am looking forward to meeting you all and 'Soaring' to new heights as we take this journey together.
